Mitel Provides Communications Solution for the Specialized Medical Center Hospital in Riyadh
Advanced IP Telephony and Contact Center Solution to Enhance Communication Across Flagship Healthcare Site
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, Nov. 26, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mitel® (Nasdaq:MITL) (TSX:MNW), a leading provider of cloud and premises based unified communications and collaboration solutions, today announced that it has implemented a feature-rich IP telephony solution for the Specialized Medical Center Hospital (SMCH) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The solution, built on the Mitel® Communications Director (MCD) platform, has been designed to enhance communication across the Hospital and with members of the public, and is expected to deliver significant savings through streamlined maintenance and management, and lower call costs.
Located in the heart of Riyadh, the SMCH provides over 450 inpatient beds and over 140 outpatient clinics. The resilient MCD solution will be used by the Hospital's dedicated, highly qualified team of almost 2,000 physicians, paramedic and support staff. Through Mitel softphones, the staff will have access to a range of rich call handling and telephony features including unified messaging, allowing them to access voice messages from anywhere across the Hospital.
The platform will also form the basis of the Hospital's new centralized contact center operation, providing agent and supervisor tools to drive productive interactions with callers, alongside real-time and historical reporting available to monitor operational efficiency.
Safi Dagher, SMCH, IT Director, commented: "We pride ourselves on providing the highest standards of care and treatment and have built a solid reputation at the forefront of healthcare in our region. Our communication approach is an integral part of these values and the Mitel solution will enable the Hospital to deliver a professional, high quality service to patients and connect our staff effectively. Looking ahead, we can also integrate the solution with other Hospital applications such as nursing calls and notifications, to further enhance real-time communication."
Hisham El-Amili, General Manager, Mitel, Middle East, commented: "Effective communication is essential in the healthcare sector, where being able to contact staff quickly can be critical. MCD delivers a highly flexible, feature-rich IP telephony system that will not only support the requirements of the SMCH now, but provide a future-proof platform to allow the Hospital to embrace virtualization and new collaboration and communication technologies."
The Mitel solution was provided to the SMCH by Mitel's expert channel partner, Nesma Advanced Technology, which is also responsible for the Hospital's IT infrastructure. Mohammad Bazaraa, General Manager of Nesma Advanced Technology said: "Our focus is on delivering innovative solutions that provide organisations with a platform to drive efficiencies and effective communication.
